InSight: A Program for
Women A Growth Therapy Group
|
|
Women often experience overload. Many women
have difficulty combining career, marriage and
motherhood without some ill effects. Stressed
women tend to have numerous physical complaints,
feel excessively worn out, become irritable,
misuse alcohol, miss work and get sick
frequently.
INSIGHT: A Program for
Women is a group intended for women who are
experiencing depression and/or anxiety, loss of
joy in daily living, loss of energy and
motivation, poor family relationships and
ineffective communication, feelings of
inadequacy and family pressures.
A group of eight to ten women
meet with Licensed Psychologist Amanda Hintz for
twenty, ninety-minute group sessions. These
structured meetings based on a cognitive
learning theory, offer simple, easy-to-use
techniques to help highly stressed, depressed
women.
During group sessions, women
become more aware of their strengths and begin
to learn how to practice positive thinking.
Women decrease their depression and increase
their self esteem by learning appropriate
assertive communication skills. Women become
empowered and effective role models within most
- if not all - areas of their lives.
INSIGHT
will be offered Monday afternoons. Most
insurances will pay for this group, however,
private pay arrangements can be made based on
your income. Members will also be responsible to
purchase a group workbook.
